They signaled the most dramatic shift in the direction of American politics since the election of Franklin Roosevelt over 60 years ago. Its effects could even exceed those of the Reagan Revolution, or at least carry it to a new level. However, the signal to strike out in a certain direction is not the completion of the trip.
