On June 12 we held our second Worship and Warfare Conference in Jacksonville, Florida (WWII). We were hosted by New Life Christian Fellowship, with support from a number of other local churches from the area. From the first meeting it was obvious that the nearly three thousand people attending were ready for both worship and warfare. There were many intercessors in attendance, including a group sent to help us from the Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola. After the first session, Don Potter remarked that it was like driving a Ferrari: "All you have to do is touch the gas and you'd better be hanging on!" We all felt that this one had the potential to go beyond what we had experienced in a conference before, and in many ways it did.
The first evening Ricky and Sharon Skaggs and Phil Driscoll ministered, along with our Conference Worship Team. Ricky and Phil both had powerful prophetic exhortations, as well very anointed ministry in music. It was the perfect conclusion for one of the best first days we have ever had in a conference. On the second day the intensity continued to build. Francis Frangipane delivered two hard-hitting messages that confronted strongholds which hinder many believers, and the deep sense of repentance that his messages caused seemed to bring an increased sense of the presence of the Lord. This caused the worship to become even more focused and intense.
The third day started where the second left off, and then kept going. When it was over, we all felt that we touched realms of worship beyond what we had experienced in public meetings before. This is crucial, because the Father is seeking worshipers. There were times when it seemed that the veil between the natural and heavenly realms had been penetrated. Many individuals started seeing into the heavenly realm. When we come to the place where we experience the perfect unity that results from a focus on adoring Him, we will all see His glory together. Then the resulting outpouring of the Holy Spirit will be beyond what we can contain, and revival will come in torrents. The power of the last-day harvest will be the result of the church's recognition of who Jesus is in our hearts, not just in our minds.
True worship transfers what we know in our minds to our hearts. When this has happened, our adoration of Him will burst beyond the present stifling walls of our buildings and our religious bondage, and it will flow into the streets. This did not fully happen in Jacksonville, but we took some very real steps beyond our previous limits and came a little closer than we have before. Likewise, the level of militant cadence going out from the Spirit, calling the army of God together, seemed to be substantially raised in these meetings.
One of the primary prayers of our ministry is that the presence of the Lord in the meetings will become so great that people will not even be tempted to look at anyone but Him. In each successive conference we feel that there has been more of the manifest presence of the Lord and fewer manifestations of the flesh. What we will not do is let the religious spirit stop us because we are not perfect yet. If we stay on course, the Lord will continue to increase, and we will continue to decrease. Our ultimate hope is to see every meeting so filled with His glory that no flesh will be able to stand in His presence. We know we are not there yet, but we thank God for the progress that we see.
Although WWII did not accomplish all we had hoped, we do believe that it accomplished what is was supposed to at this time. Now the most crucial phase of the ministry is beginning. One of the most vulnerable times for God's people is right after a victory. Now is the most important time to be praying for the church in Jacksonville. We are not doing conferences for the sake of having a good time, but for the purpose of making strategic advances for the body of Christ. After a breakthrough we cannot stop and celebrate, but must press the attack until the enemy is completely destroyed and the church has possessed all the land she has been called to occupy!
The most important fruit of the conferences is not what happens during them, but what happens in the people that affects their lives, churches and neighborhoods after the meetings are over. The changes we saw in the people over just three days gave us even more faith in what we had seen concerning the prophetic destiny of Jacksonville. This is a city with extraordinary spiritual leadership and a multitude of mighty men and women of valor throughout the ranks. There is a foundation there for not just another revival, but for a move of God that will truly take an emerging world- class city for the gospel.
Now that WWII is over, we are already preparing for WWIII. We're going back to Jacksonville. We want to help the church keep pressing on until there is a major breakthrough, and then press on some more until there is a complete victory. There are other cities in Florida which will ultimately link together into a spiritual army that will fire shots heard around the world. We want to help this in any way the Lord permits. Please join us in praying for them and seeking the Lord's strategic timing for our future ministry there.
Thanks
We believe that one of the primary reasons this conference accomplished so much was the unprecedented hospitality that we were shown by our host church, New Life Christian Fellowship. Not only was the support of Pastor Paul Zink, his wife Sharon, brother Jimmy, and their entire staff far beyond anything we could have hoped for, but it also brought conviction on us all that we have a lot to learn about hospitality and being servants. From the parking lot attendants to the engineers provided for doing the video and audio recording, a devotion to doing everything with excellence as unto the Lord was evident. This kind of ministry of helps and administration not only makes everything go more smoothly, but it is essential for the preservation of the fruit. It will become increasingly crucial for the body of Christ to walk in during the harvest.
Thanks to all the pastors in Jacksonville who came to the conference and encouraged those in your congregations to come. Thanks to WNCM for carrying the meetings live on your radio station. We also appreciated the many other pastors and leaders at the conference who came from around the country and from other nations.
The greatest determining factor in the success of any meeting is the quality of the people who come. Those at WWII were all like spiritual knights who responded to the sound of battle. To see so many focused, resolute saints gives me great
encouragement for the continued advancement of the body of Christ toward its last- day destiny. There is an army being prepared with the heart of David. They will be some of the greatest worshipers and greatest warriors the world has ever seen.
