Climbing the Mountain of God

On Day One we discussed the progressive steps to maturity in Jesus Christ. If followed, these steps will lead to a mature, victorious Christian life. Our goal as stated in Ephesians 4:15 is to "...grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ." To help those of you who want to run ahead a little bit, I will lay out a few of the places where these steps are found in Scripture so that you may begin the individual study of them. The first of these is addressed by the Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 10:1-11:

Walking Into the Glory

There are progressive steps to maturity in Jesus Christ. These steps are outlined several times in Scripture, yet it seems that few Christians even know about them, much less follow the course where they lead. The failure to know these steps is probably the greatest reason for the defeat of those who fail to walk in a victorious Christian life. Our goal is to first see and understand these steps to maturity, while beginning the ascent up the mountain of the Lord, conquering ourselves and the enemies assigned to thwart us.

A Newer Beginning

As I am writing this we are approaching the beginning of a new century, and new millennium. As this kind of change only comes every one thousand years, if there was ever a time to think of new beginnings this seems like a good one.

I have been asked a few times lately what I think of New Year's resolutions. Since this seems to be on so many people's minds, let me address this first before going on to my main point.

Taking the Land, Part 21

The most basic principle that we must understand about the kingdom is that Jesus is the King of the coming kingdom. That may sound ridiculously obvious, but it has been easily forgotten by those who sought to prepare the way for His kingdom throughout history. Actually, many of the greatest...

Follow the Shaking

"When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them,
and the sheep follow him because they know his voice" (John 10:4).

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised,
saying, " Yet once more I will shake not only the earth,
but also the heaven." And this expression&nb

Changed by the Glory

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
just as from the Lord, the Spirit (II Corinthians 3:18).

Wake up Grandfather!

As I look out my window I can see Grandfather Mountain. It was named that because it looks like a man lying on his back sleeping. That is the perception that many have of their grandfathers. I have heard it said a number of times by the elderly that they just could not sleep during the daytime until they reached that age. The older we get we probably do need more sleep, but spiritually it is the most important time of all to wake up.

Where is Justice?

Because I have something of a prophetic reputation I am continually asked my opinion about current events. This is a serious problem because I can give my opinion and it is often related as being a prophecy even when I make it clear that it is an opinion and not a prophecy. I do not presume to know the Lord's perspective on everything, or even many things that relate to current events.

The Beauty of Holiness

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in
your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all
your behavior; because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy" (I Peter 1:14-16).
