Weakened Warriors

As we continue our study of how the church will cross over and begin to possess its Promised Land, this week we will look at the first great event after crossing the Jordan, which we see in Joshua 5:2: “At that time the Lord said to Joshua, "Make for yourself flint knives and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time."

Creating a Clean Heart - Part 13

The next “work of the flesh,” we will study from Galatians 5:22 is “drunkenness.” Of course, getting drunk, or high, should have no place in the life of a Christian. To become drunk is at best to reduce your ability to control yourself, or to resist the devil. When this happens we can count on the other “works of the flesh” to assert themselves, and the devil taking advantage of us to do his evil work.

I See a New America

What will America be like in 2020? Some believe we will be another socialist state modeled after various European countries. Others see an even more extreme form of totalitarianism in our future. Some believe a reaction to the recent radical turn to the left will result in an even more radical swing to the extreme right after the seemingly inevitable economic meltdown. However, there is another possibility. The following is a very possible scenario. In just ten years, America could have:

Day 103 - The Journey Begins

On Day Two we saw how Paul described the wilderness journey of Israel in I Corinthians 10:1-11 as a parallel of our journey as Christians. He concluded his insights here with: "Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come" (verse 11). The experiences of Israel leaving Egypt, crossing the wilderness, and then possessing their promised land, are a step-by-step prophetic map of our journey toward the fulfillment of our calling in Christ.

Day 55 - The Burnt Stones

The Books of Ezra and Nehemiah are two of the most important prophetic messages for our own time. They contain the story of how a remnant of God's people returned to Jerusalem from captivity in Babylon to rebuild the temple of the Lord and the walls of the city. These faithful ones met with continuous opposition and criticism from the nations around them, and even from some of their own fellow Jews who had remained in the land. One of their most vehement enemies, Sanballat, said the following concerning them:

In Pursuit of Him- The Greatest Christian Life, Part 21

I have been sharing some of my own story in this study, not as an example of a great Christian life, but from what I have learned being in pursuit of it. What we are addressing as “The Greatest Christian Life” is the life in pursuit of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus as the Apostle Paul described it. This is available to all who love the Lord more than anything else in this life and who esteem doing His will above anything they could possibly acquire for themselves.

Day 7 - Heaven

Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."

And God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse
from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

And God called the expanse heaven.

The High Calling - The Great Commission, Part 33

As we look at the ultimate purpose of God to restore the earth from all the consequences of the Fall and make it once again the paradise it was originally intended to be, we see this theme running throughout everything He is doing on the earth. We can also see it in all that He is doing in us individually, such as the subduing of our sinful nature through the cross and the renewing of our minds, so that we think like the Lord. To have a Christian worldview is to view the world as Christ does.

Authority Over Demons

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."
And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any m
