I recently had the unexpected experience of leaving Washington, D.C. encouraged. I saw change, and in the right direction. I have never given up hope on the prevailing of the American Republic or the ultimate preservation of the Constitution, but I admit I had begun to lose hope that any fundamental solutions would come from Washington. For decades, every visit I made to Washington left me more concerned about our Federal Government. So to leave Washington encouraged was a new experience for me. How did it happen?
The response to our announcement that Todd had begun a restoration process was even greater than expected. It seems that not only is Todd’s restoration of great interest, but restoration in general is too. That is encouraging. This Special Bulletin is about much more than Todd, and it touches on some issues that may be the most important for Christians to examine in these times.
Today, there are basically four worldviews: The Christian worldview, Islamic worldview, secular worldview, and the Marxist worldview. Each of these in their pure form is in basic conflict with the others. If you understand these worldviews, you will have a basic understanding of virtually all of the conflicts in the world today.
Paul Cain has been used mightily by the Lord to touch many lives in our times. He is esteemed by many around the world as a major prophetic voice and as a spiritual father. It would be hard to estimate the number who have been healed, delivered, or saved through his ministry. We have especially benefited from his friendship and ministry in too many ways to count. It is therefore with great sorrow that we publish the following.
The whole world is dealing with ultimate issues now. This is “The Valley of Decision” that was prophesied. The foundations of civilization are being shaken. At the same time that human governments are failing, the kingdom of God is growing. We are in the times when Daniel 2 is being fulfilled. The statue that represents all of man’s kingdoms is crumbling while the little stone that represents the kingdom of God is growing into a mountain or government, and it will keep growing until it fills the whole earth.
As we in America approach one of the most important elections in our lifetime, I talk to many Christians who are still conflicted about their choice for President. Many are conflicted about their choice for a political party. As a pastor, I consider it a responsibility to address this issue that will impact so many of the Lord’s people.
The United States was the first, and some say the only, nation created through the belief that God, not government, has given to all men certain unalienable rights, and that government exists for the purpose of protecting those rights. For this reason, the government is a servant of the people, not the other way around. The Constitution and Bill of Rights were written to ensure the understanding and protection of those basic rights.
The four main events that we have covered on this subject have been:
We have spent the last few weeks discussing our need to not just have the truth, but to love and to walk in it. Truth is one of the most precious gifts that we have been given—a great treasure that deserves to be honored and protected. However, truth is not just a philosophy of life or the knowledge of the facts of history, but truth is Christ Himself. Truth is a Person. Walking in truth is walking in intimacy with the Lord. We can know all doctrines accurately and yet still not be in obedience to the will of the Lord.
